Ok - so it’s about snow. We’re completely hung up on the weather here in Britain, mainly because most of the time it’s not that great. 90% of the time the weather in Britain is just dull. We don’t get typhoons - we don’t get tsunamis - we don’t get dangerously sweltering and prolonged heat waves. We tend to get rain, you know, the little stuff - the kind that makes you wet. And some sun. Occasionally. When it can be bothered to punch its way through the clouds.
So - as you’d expect, we’ve twittered about the snow quite a bit today. I’ve been reading tweets from folks all over the uk, mostly accompanied by twitpics and it’s been great to watch how it spread. One smart guy over at the URL I posted decided to pull this together and come up with a consistent way of reporting the snow via Twitter and it’s, pardon the pun, snowballed. Thousands of tweets now appearing in the form of ‘#uksnow G1 6/10’
As he says on his site - this might be just snow, but it could be about a product or bad news. There is no spin anymore. People trust their own well known internet community or social network more than a collection of ‘reviews’ on a web site or advertising. Twitter can’t be spun. You *will* be found out.
