See - Twitter is great, but there’s a few simple rules that make someone a decent twit.
- retweet if you like a tweet. Mega-twits seem to be worried about sending followers to someone if they do this.
- don’t use twitter as a way to simply drive traffic to your blog.
- post personal updates - you do more than work (I hope)
- reply publicly - direct messages again hide people
- most twits can see through marketing on twitter. We chose to ignore ads when we can on websites and will ignore tweets like that as well, so probably not worth bothering
My favourite twit has to be @stephenfry. He gets it, he replies, he retweets and is genuinely interesting and enjoyable to follow.
